An intern nurse is a newly graduated nurse or a senior nursing student who provides direct patient care under the close supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and clinical educators

Key Responsibilities

The Intern Nurse is a newly graduated nurse or final-year nursing student transitioning from academic theory to full professional practice. Under the direct supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and clinical preceptors, the Intern Nurse delivers high-quality, evidence-based patient care while developing clinical proficiency. This role rotates through multiple hospital departments to build well-rounded competence, master technical skills, and fulfill professional licensing requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

Degree: Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) or an accredited Diploma in General Nursing.
Transcripts: Official academic transcripts proving completion of all required undergraduate coursework.
Clinical Hours: Signed logbook confirming completion of all mandatory university clinical placement hours.
Provisional License: Valid provisional registration certificate from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) or relevant regional board.
Index Number: Official nursing student indexing number issued during training.
Life Support: Current, active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Support: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is highly preferred.
