X-Ray Technician

Job Description

The X-Ray Technician (GL 07) is responsible for carrying out routine radiographic procedures to assist in clinical diagnosis and patient management within KTHSMB healthcare facilities. The role involves operating X-ray equipment, preparing and positioning patients, ensuring radiation protection, and maintaining imaging records. The technician will work under the supervision of a Radiographer or medical officer to deliver safe, accurate, and timely imaging services in line with healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine X-ray examinations as requested
Prepare and correctly position patients for imaging procedures
Operate X-ray machines and related radiographic equipment
Ensure adherence to radiation safety and protection standards
Assist in processing and reviewing radiographic images
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
Report equipment faults and assist in routine maintenance
Ensure cleanliness and safety of the imaging unit
Support radiographers and clinicians during procedures
Provide clear instructions and reassurance to patients

Requirements & Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in X-Ray Technology or related field
Basic knowledge of radiographic procedures
Understanding of radiation safety practices
Good communication and patient care skills
Relevant experience
